At Ridgetop Adventist Elementary School, we believe that nature is one of the greatest classrooms. Our Nature Immersion Program is designed to nurture your child’s academic, emotional, physical, and spiritual development through hands-on experiences in the great outdoors.

Program Details
Who:
Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade students (this year 3rd-8th Grade students have joined us too)
When:
Every Tuesday and Thursday
Where:
Outdoor learning spaces surrounding our school campus (Little Forest and Big Forest)


Weather Policy
We embrace all seasons and weather types—rain, snow, and sunshine! The only exception is during thunder and lightning, when students will remain indoors.
What to Bring
To ensure your child is comfortable and safe, please send them to school in Nature Immersion clothing on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Required Items:

Rainsuit, rain jacket & pants, or clothes that can get dirty/wet

Rain boots (to be kept at school)

Backpack with a full change of uniform clothing:

Nature Immersion Rules

Be kind to nature
-
Be kind to friends (hands are for helping, not hurting)
-
No throwing rocks or sticks
-
Stay within boundaries – “If you can’t see me, I can’t see you”

Wear appropriate clothing (rain gear required)

Come quickly when called
-
“Leaves of 3, let them be! Hairy vine, not a friend of mine!” (Poison ivy awareness)

Do not touch turtles or snakes
STEM in the Forest
Nature Immersion is more than just outdoor play—it’s a hands-on educational experience that integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) concepts. Students design, create, explore, and problem-solve in real-world settings that spark curiosity and innovation.​
